Have you ever heard of a Muu Muu? It looks a lot like it sounds…A frumpy, big piece of clothing... and quite the vision. Sometimes not in a good way. No offense to any one out there who might wear one…to each his own. It's just…when you're pregnant, a muu muu is kind of what you feel like wearing sometimes. Some big tent like fabric big enough to cover your growing curves. 

I think pregnancy sometimes gets the wrong image. Word of advice: don't ever tell a pregnant woman she looks cute. That's not a compliment. She'll probably go home and throw on a muu muu after that. But really....we should be celebrating those curves! Pregnancy is a straight on miracle of life and what a woman's body is designed to do is nothing short of incredible.

That's why I'm so glad maternity sessions have started to turn a corner. The words to describe a pregnant woman should be gorgeous, fierce, beautiful, striking, glam, chic….you get the point. When I get together with a mama to be, she should feel like a princess. That's why I'm so glad when I did this shoot, that's exactly what this mama said. Because, she really was….GLAMOROUS. Cue Fergie.

We started out the session with a gorgeous, flowing mauve dress that brought so much beauty to the environment. Everything in the background seemed to cling to the dress and embrace it with a romantic, blushing hug!

Can you even?! The tree was just fantastic around her gorgeous, rosy appearance. This mama was a champ because apparently some sort of weird bug crawled up the dress and bit her. Not cool, Florida. Not cool. But she was a rockstar and we changed into the second dress.

Now....I'm gearing you up because I feel like this next set of images is a game changer for maternity sessions. I'm sure I'm not the first one to make a maternity session a little bit sexy but I'm happy with the outcome and I think it totally helps slay the idea that pregnancy is "cute". No. Just no. Don't believe me? Take a gander at this fierce woman.

It's safe to assume the red dress is my personal favorite right now. I think every pregnant woman should wear it at least once!
